I am an avid outdoor person.  Ever since I was small I have enjoyed the elements of nature. Riding my bike, hiking, swimming, skiing; I love anything related to be outdoors since I was a child.  When I discovered Five Element Acupuncture it was like coming home and discovering I found my way.  Five Element is a comprehensive medicine that relates how the energy of the seasons encompass our health to  understand and develop the best possible outcomes to being healthy.

I have been a Licensed Acupuncturist since 2002. I am passionate about getting to the root cause of disease and fascinated with peoples energy: physically, mentally and spiritually.   Prior to venturing into acupuncture, I became a Registered Nurse in 1982 and trained at Holyoke Community College.  At the University of Massachusetts I obtained my  undergraduate Bachelors of Science degree in nursing, 1993.  My nursing specialty was heart based: CCU/ICU-critical care nursing.   As a nurse, I became deeply concerned about the lack of real preventative medicine and the degree of illness in my patients year after year.  This inspired me to seek out new ways of healing people.

I took classes in Boston MA to understand Asian medicine and philosophy and Taoism and Buddhist studies in Seattle Washington and Boulder CO.  My training in acupuncture became prevalent to study Five Element style Acupuncture and Graduated from the Institute Acupuncture Education and Taoism(ITEA) in 2002 after studying with JR Worsley.

Qigong is one of the branches of Asian medicine and a passion.  I trained with Eva Wong and Lee Holden and is certified as a teacher.  I teach weekly classes and integrate qigong in treatments.

Healing begins as we heal the body, mind and the spirit. In 3000 BC, Acupuncture originated as a true preventative medicine to heal the spirit, mind and body.  Traditionally, master Acupuncturists would take payment only if they kept their patients healthy.  If a patient became ill, the practitioner would provide treatment without payment because the healer had not done their job.  In todays world, we do not practice medicine in the same way, it is often symptom based or paliative.   Most individuals seek help when they already sick, so the underlying causes of illness is not determined or treated.

Acupuncture treatment starts with a relationship between patient and practitioner, where acupuncture determines the causative factor and acts to restore the balance of the mind, body and spirit reintegrating a healthy energy flow. Real preventative medicine provides for healthy aging and general wellness.

In my practice, I’ve had success in treating many ailments and people of all ages including the following: pain, sports injuries, acute and chronic conditions, headaches, insomnia, depression, panic attacks, PTSD, anxiety, ankle, back and foot pain, palpitations, allergies, menopausal symptoms, and immune system improvement over time and so much more.

People who receive acupuncture regularly can be rid of the flu, allergies, pains and common illnesses that plague them year after year as well as the chronic problems that have hindered them for years.  What makes me most excited is when people care enough about their health and keep coming in because they feel better each time.
