Reduce Stress and Improve Health

What is Qigong?

Qigong is a practice that increases vitality and longevity, reduces stress and improves ones health.  It is a therapeutic exercise that incorporates movement, meditation and breathing.

The National Qigong Association states, “Qigong opens the flow of energy in meridians used in acupuncture and Chinese medicine”. The five elements are sequential movements that improve the health of the organs in the body.

Five Element cycle

Five Elements

Five Elements are associated with the organs in the body.  Each element flows within the body in a specific pattern to keep us healthy.  Qigong movements follow the acupuncture meridians in the body.  These flowing cycles keep our energy strong, vital, increase resistance to ill health.  Preventing disease and and allowing freedom of movement  of our body, thoughts, mind and emotions.   Each element has a specific relationship with a paired organ system and meridian.  For example the water element is associated with the Kidney and bladder.   Emotions, sounds and color are also part of the practice in healing with Qigong, Acupuncture and Chinese medicine.
